This Privacy Policy explains how Obitstudio ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the Multi-Identifier mobile application and this website (the "Service"). By installing or using the Service you consent to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service and uninstall the app.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Photos and images you capture or upload for identification.
- Messages and contact details you send us (for example, through our contact form).
- Purchase records when you buy optional features via Google Play (we do not receive your full payment card details).
Information collected automatically
- Device information: model, manufacturer, operating system version, language, screen size, time zone, carrier and app version.
- Identifiers: Android Advertising ID, app-set ID, installation ID, IP address and similar online identifiers.
- Usage data: features used, scans performed, session length, crashes, diagnostics and performance data.
- Approximate location derived from IP address, and precise location only if you grant permission.
- Advertising data: ad impressions, clicks, interactions and conversions.
2. Device permissions
To operate safely and fully, the app may request some or all of the following Android permissions. Not every permission is used on every device or version, and some are requested only when you use a related feature. You can grant, deny or revoke permissions at any time in your device settings, but some features may then not work.
- Camera: To take photos of items you want to identify.
- Photos / media / files (read media images, storage): To let you upload images from your gallery and save or share results.
- Internet & network state: To send images for AI analysis, load results and serve advertisements.
- Advertising ID (com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID): To deliver, personalise and measure ads and to prevent ad fraud.
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): To send reminders, updates or service messages, if you allow it.
- Approximate or precise location: May be used by us or ad partners to localise content and ads, if you grant it.
- Wake lock / foreground service: To keep processing running while an identification is in progress.
- Vibration: To provide feedback when a scan completes.
- Billing (com.android.vending.BILLING): To process optional in-app purchases or subscriptions through Google Play.
- Receive boot completed: To restore scheduled notifications after your device restarts.
- Install referrer / attribution: To understand how you found the app and measure campaigns.
- Microphone: Only if a feature requiring audio is offered and you choose to use it.
- Contacts / accounts (where shown): Only to support sharing or sign-in features, if offered and you choose to use them.
We may add or change permissions as the app evolves. Any changes will be reflected in the Google Play listing and this policy.
3. Advertising
Multi-Identifier is free and supported by advertising. By using the Service you acknowledge and agree that ads will be displayed.
- Ads may appear in any format — banner, interstitial (full-screen), native, rewarded, video and app-open — and at any point in the app, including when the app opens, between screens and around results.
- Ads are provided by third-party networks, including Google AdMob and its certified partners and mediation networks. These partners may collect and use your Advertising ID, IP address, device information, approximate location and interaction data, and may use cookies and similar technologies, to serve personalised or non-personalised ads, limit ad frequency, measure performance and detect fraud.
- Third-party advertisers and networks process data under their own privacy policies. We do not control and are not responsible for their practices, their ad content, or any website, app, product or service they promote. Any interaction with an ad is at your own risk and solely between you and the advertiser.

Your advertising choices
- Opt out of personalised ads or reset/delete your Advertising ID in Android Settings → Google → Ads (or Privacy → Ads).
- Where required by law (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), we ask for your consent through a consent management platform before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time from within the app where available.
- Opting out of personalised ads does not stop ads from being shown; you will still see non-personalised ads.
4. How we use information
- To provide AI identification results, accuracy scores and estimated values.
- To display, personalise and measure advertising.
- To maintain, secure, debug and improve the Service and develop new features.
- To analyse usage and performance through analytics tools such as Firebase / Google Analytics and Crashlytics.
- To respond to your requests and send service messages.
- To prevent fraud and abuse and comply with legal obligations.
5. How we share information
- Advertising partners such as Google AdMob and mediation partners, as described above.
- Service providers for AI image processing, cloud hosting, analytics, crash reporting and customer support.
- Legal and safety: when required by law or to protect rights, property and safety.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
We do not sell your photos. Where sharing for advertising may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under applicable laws (such as the CCPA/CPRA), you may opt out as described in section 3.
6. Data retention
Photos submitted for identification are processed to generate results and are not kept longer than necessary for that purpose, operation, security and improvement of the Service. Other data is kept as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including encryption in transit. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including by our service providers and advertising partners, with appropriate safeguards where required.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights or request deletion of your data, please use our contact form. You can also stop all collection by the app by uninstalling it.
11. Third-party links
The Service and its ads may link to third-party websites and apps. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows the latest version. Continued use of the Service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
13. Contact us
